For many centuries January 6 has marked Epiphany, the day when the Three Magi dropped in on the little adorable baby Jesus.

We are devout followers of Epiphany because it involves making (and eating) a Galette des Rois, or King Cake.

This is the first year that Lucie baked the cake herself. From scratch! There's about a billion little layers of pastry interleaved with layers of butter. Lucie's New Year resolution is to cook new and exciting high-butter recipes.
