The last day that Milo crawled was his first birthday. He's graduated from babydom and is a full-on toddler. It also means he's falling down from a greater height. He's got several bumps and bruises on his noggin.
He's been -- uncharacteristically -- cranky for the last few days. We think it's on account of some new teeth coming in.
Felix had a tough time at school last week. He decided he didn't like the New School, and didn't have any friends, and was crying when we dropped him off. We were all pretty depressed about it. But what a difference a week makes! He really likes his teacher Karen who just came back from vacation, and he made a new friend: Owen. We have had a couple of play dates with him, and now Felix says he wants to live with Owen.
To prepare Felix for our imminent trip to France, Lucie pretends to be Iris, Felix's 3-year-old cousin who doesn't speak any English:
L: Bonjour, comment tu t'appelles?
F: Felix. What's your name?
L: Je ne comprends pas. Demandes le moi en français.
F: But I don't know how to say "what's your name" in français.
L: On dit: comment tu t'appelles
F (concentrating): Comment how your name is?
L: Presque: Comment tu t'appelles?
F: Comment you t'appelles?
L: Iris.
New words and baby signs in the last couple of weeks:
- bye bye: complete with a wave of the hand
- [moving fist up and down as if blowing a whistle]: train.
- [patting head]: hat.
- [sniffing]: flower.
- [clicking tongue]: rabbit, in particular, Owen's rabbit Mickey.
